This Capensis has been under stress and was just about dead when I realized it was very dry. After soaking it, a strange stalk has appeared from its soil. Do Capensis do this type of thing, or could it be a dormant plant emerging sight unseen?

I can't see it clearly but Drosera capensis do send up new plants growing from the roots. This usually happens after the above-ground parts of the plant die off from temperature or drought.
