Availability: Out of stock

Quite possibly the easiest carnivorous plant to grow, the Drosera capensis is a great plant for the beginner.

This all is the standard or "typical" variety which has green leaves and red tentacles.
Description

Details

Drosera capensis, also called the Cape Sundew, originates in the Cape area of South Africa. Although a fairly rare plant in nature, the Drosera capensis grows easily in cultivation and unlike many carnivorous plants does not require a dormancy period, which makes it less challenging for beginners. Amazingly, leaves curl in over time to trap insects who are lured in by the sparkly sweet dew drops that top the many red fibers on the leaves. Bright pink flowers grace the flower stalks when they bloom in early summer. Collect the seeds from the dried flower stalks, so you can grow more! Drosera capensis will not need a dormancy unless it is subjected to very little light or cold temperatures, and then will have a semi-dormancy.

Amazing.
Received it a few days ago. Very healthy plant and in excellent condition! However it’s not as dewy as I expected, the most likely cause to this is because of shipping. The shipping was very secure, all plants arrived safe and sound : D. Will be ordering again, hopefully a mystery box.

Cool Plant, Amazing Store
Plants are constantly putting out lots of new growth. I wanted to order 2 but I got the last one. They sent me 2 sundews in the same pot. A few weeks later, I looked more closely and realized there were 3 sundews! I can't wait for them to bloom, and then I will have a thousand sundews! Many thanks to FTS, the only vendor I will use. Plants I got elsewhere were smaller, less healthy, and not freshly repotted. Thanks!!!

A fun plant to own
This is the first time I have ever seen a plant like this one. I am pretty new to fly traps and thought this would be a good one for a newbie to try out because it does not go dormant. I got a very nice quality plant. It looked well fed upon arrival. I have it in a very sunny window for now and lots of new growth has popped up in just a matter of a few days.
