Darlingtonia californica, the "Cobra Lily." Our plants are from the more hardy mountainside populations rather than from the coastal colonies. They regularly experience high temperatures over 100°F in the summer and lows down to 0°F in the winter. But be sure to keep their roots cool!
Darlingtonia californica, the "Cobra Lily." Darlingtonia enjoys having "wet feet" and a root zone that is kept in the 50s°F or less. Sexually mature plants put up beautiful yellow flowers in the spring which are quite similar to Sarracenia flowers. They retain their pitchers through winter and actually look quite nice when most Sarracenia start losing their pitchers.
