Cool stuff here, nice work all!

Lately I have been messing with night photos during my fogwalks. It takes a steady hand and very long exposures, but with some trial and error I have been getting some interesting results:

^^See now that is amazing because this tree looks exactly like an elephant and it is totally by chance. it's not even known as the elephant tree or anything like that. amazing.

Very nice photos guys.

sPacer, for taking night photos you should invest in a tripod, it will make those long exposures much easier to deal with! ;)

If you go this route I might also recommend a remote shutter control for your camera.

I have several tripods and my camera has a timer. I guess I haven't gotten too serious about the night pics yet. "Yes, 9-1-1, there is a shadowy man wearing black, taking pictures on my block, it is 3 am".
^^

I try to get quick yet steady snaps and move on at a non-conspicuous pace. Maybe tonight I'll take a small tripod out on my fogwalk. Thanks for the advice. I am planning a journey in a few weeks and will come back with LOTS of pics day and night.

Here is one of me in my favorite beach cave, living a Corona ad.

I love macrophotography. It was the main reason I got a nice camera and lens. There are plenty of really nice older models of cameras out there now that you could probably find a used body and a nice used macro lens to start with for not too much money.

devon: thats what we call "wetlands" in south oz.

our councils have been making artificial wetlands to catch storm water.
it supports a nice little ecosystem which you can walk/ride around, and when it gets too full they catch the excess water in massive rainwater tanks.

then, they pump and sell that water to the local nursery across the road so it uses waste water instead of tap water (south oz is the dryest state in the dryest continent, water is our states most precious resource)

tc3 driver: demon kitteh is not impressed in that last photo !

you can see how Adelaide Parklands form a box around the Adelaide CBD. one of the many reasons i love this great city
