I was trimming my VFT and pulled off a mostly black leaf but it still had some red at the bottom and it came off with a little chunk of Ribosome. I planted this in my medium. Is it possible for this to work?

Most likely not. Even with a healthy leaf, chances for it to successfully strike aren't exactly 100%. And since that leaf was already in the process of dying back, I doubt it would have the energy needed for it to do so.
