This time of year is the fist tuber's emerge from the summer hibernation, here is South Australia , so here is a few pic's for the tuber called D.preafolia , this sun dew is only is found in a small area of south Australia in the coastal hills and small populations of Kangaroo Island , up till recently very very few people had this plant or seed from it , we have managed to gain some seed and now have plants producing seed from our one stocks , none of these wild plants here in South Australia are protected out side of the national parks , the parks which only cover very small parts of the hills , our sundew's are largely unknown to the majority of the public here ,when we have our plant shows 90% of the public are very surprised we had Carnivorous plants in our local hills here in South Australia, and more surprised that there are others beyond the hill in to the country side , the process of education continues !! ;) , the next to emerge is D.whittakeri then , D.macrantha ssp.planchonii and ssp.macrantha then D.auriculata , them D.peltata then D.glanduligera

PS. these shots were taken in the Onkarparinga river National park sun dew trail you can google that and see some walks and pic's from the area, you may notice that only the flowers are present and no sun dew traps . this is one of the very unique features to this particular sun dew most produce the traps then flowers , we are all ways a bit different down here
