Hello all. I wanted to ask what you guys think happened to my seedlings? I planted 25 seeds. 14 germinated. Out of those, four turned black and died (pictured). The lightning was correct (marshydro), temps were regulated, humidity was set and they were kept moist, not wet. This is my first go at seeds, and I would like to learn from my mistakes. I was thinking perhaps since the “dusting” didn’t cover then properly, they didn’t have anything to push against, and died. Maybe?

Sorry about your loss.Thats interesting, I wonder if it was some kind of fungus or something. How are the other sprouts doing?

They seem to be doing well. Growing good. There aren’t any signs of fungus that I have noticed. I was very careful in my preparation. Cut NZLFS. Boiled distilled water. Aired out the container twice a day. Attached are photos of some of the growing seedlings.

Sometimes, seedlings just spontaneously die for no visible reason. Maybe that could've happened to them?

Welp, I figured it out last night. I have documented my process, and I remembered that at the six week mark I took the temperature measuring device and placed it in the media instead of outside. I wanted to get a proper reading on the top soil. By doing so, I believe I caused the heating pad to over compensate, and thus cooked my little guys. Tremendously frustrating, considering how much time and detail went into my adventure, but I learned a lot. Sigh...
