Could I plant them now, or do you think I should wait until spring? also, would they germinate if I just sprinkled them around in some pots? Thanks! :D

There are reports of Cape seeds being sown after being lost for over 20 years and germinating. The rate wasn't great, but some plants grew, so the fresher the better. So they could easily wait until Spring to sow.
The mix you just requested was just refreshed with some fresher seed, but I would still expect two to four weeks for germination, and some of the older stuff might actually take two or three months.
