I have been wondering what is the best sand to use for my drosera media but I don't know what type of sand and where to find it in sydney ?

Use pure silica sand. I get mine from a swimming pool supply store. It's used in pool filters. Don't forget to rinse it well before using. Also sandblasting sand is good as long as it's pure silica.
