So I just got my adult b52 VFT delivered today from Amazon I bought them from Joel carnivorousplants I want to get advice if I should pot them now or wait if I wait how do I properly store them?

I live in Illinois and the weather this week is high 70s in the day and around 40 to 50 degrees F. at night. The paper it came with mentioned keep it inside for the first two weeks then place it outside after.

I bought neem oil spray bottle can I spray the plant it self or only the soil?

I linked pictures of the neem oil, peat moss and perlite I will be using. I got the peat, perlite and long fiber sphagnum moss from menards really cheap. Let me know if these are good.

Here is the post I just answered on keeping it inside. post352329.html#p352329

Neem oil is only a pesticide. You should not use it unless you see some sort of pests. Ask then and we will let you know. The peat and perlite are good to use. Any brand will work (exept Miracle Gro). There is no need to store flytraps. Plant it as soon as you have pure water (distilled, rain, reverse osmosis) and good soil.

I just got mine from Joel’s Carnivorous Plants too 4 days ago as a B52. From the research i’ve done, you should make a hole in the wet sphagnum moss with a finger and gently put it in there. The mistake I made was forgetting to take off the paper towel from the bulb part.
So when I finally did it was wet and sheared the tips of the roots off even though I was super gentle with it. Don’t make the same mistake and you’ll be fine.

Make sure to acclimate it! I'm still trying to figure out what that means, but it is vital so that your plant doesn't get hurt by the full sun. Also, DO NOT shear the roots off! That was by accident when I did it.

I put it out at the near the end of the day so it should get 2-4 hours of it and lucky it's a warm 50 degrees F. Tonight so it should be fine glad I don't have to trim the roots that would of been a pain.

Never trim roots unless taking cuttings on drosera. Longer roots mean a healthier plant!

This time of year hardening off flytraps is not that vital unless you live somewhere like Arizona or New Mexico or Florida where it is already quite hot and sunny. In most of the US, since it is still quite early in the spring and the sun isn't too intense yet, you should be able to simply place the flytrap outside and it will harden off just fine.
