I’m using spaghnum moss as soil and have slowly found (over the course of several months) my moss begin to turn green. I researched that this was likely algae growth and is generally harmless to the VFT but can be thwarted with a low dose spray of hydrogen peroxide. I decided not to spray the plant but now find that besides turning green there is now strange little green sprouts coming from the moss. I’m wondering what this is and what I should be doing to prevent it?
I haven’t been able to find posts with this strange sprouting problem.
The attached photo shows the plastic pot the plant is in. There are drainage holes in the bottom and it sits on a tray filled with water. Perhaps the issue is just that the tray is over watering?
