I was browsing Ebay earlier looking for some deals on Venus Flytraps. And I came across some cultivars that I've never heard of before ?

1. LO2
2. Giant VCX
3. Big Tomato

I've searched the internet looking for information regarding these cultivars, and can't find anything ? Are these just names
the guy made up off the top of his head ?

Never heard of them. And the seller doesn't give any background on them. Seems suspicious to me.

Don't trust the seller. Never heard of these. Be careful buying CPs from eBay.

I've seen those listings on e-bay. What disturbs me is that he says in all his VFT listings "remember these are seed grown" yet he lists them as B52's, DC XL's, etc, etc. :?

If they're grown from seed, they *can't* be named like that. You can never know exactly what traits will get passed on in seeds. The only way to guarantee you're getting the exact same DNA is through cuttings or divisions. If the seller doesn't even know that much about VFTs, I sure wouldn't be giving him any money.

I've dealt with this seller. While most of his plants are seed grown, there are some true clones. If the listing isn't clear, he'll answer questions. I tend to ignore the VFT names and call each one "seed-grown" in my head - his pics are reasonably accurate and you can get some pretty plants from him at low prices. (If his naming technique annoys you, there's a couple of other Ebay sellers that make it a point of pride to only sell true VFT clones.) Also, I've gotten a couple of nice baby heliamphora minor clumps from him for peanuts.

I have an old thread where we discussed this seller. At the time he was claiming that all of his plants were true cultivars, not seed grown. http://www.flytrapcare.com/phpBB3/dcxl-t24113.html I bought a B52xB52 seed grown and a drosera regia from him, and recently picked up a heliamphora. His plants are high quality and on the cheap side, my vft that I got off of him is larger than my actual B52.
