Hello!

I just got a Sarracenia plant today and I was wondering what I can do to help it grow better.

I think it is pretty light starved right now and I was thinking whether I should keep it under my bright pattio for a week before putting it into direct sunlight or putting into direct sunlight right away?

Also should I repot into a bigger pot?

Thanks!
I'm guessing it's a Sarracenia Purpurea

Hello and welcome back!

Yes, that appears to be a Sarracenia purpurea or some purpurea hybrid. And you are correct that it is light-starved. I think your idea of starting it under your bright patio is a good one. Then start giving it an hour or two of sunlight a day and increase from there. You'll probably lose some of the etiolated (light-starved) growth but the new growth will be fully hardened and the risk of losing the plant to sunburn is almost zero.

Good growing!
