These are my first Gemae (I am sure I am spelling it wrong lol) and this is what they are doing after transplanting them. What are they doing? lol

Did you transplant the seedling? Or is this where you sowed the gemmae originally?

Yeah, looks like that hair thin tap root got whacked in the transplant.

That bottom pic definitely looks like a tap root mishap took place, but that top one simply looks like it could be going dormant.

Avoid transplanting pygmies. Damage to the fragile taproot can cause the death of the plant.

So does that mean the one is dying?

Got these from the seed bank. I tried to be gentle when I transplanted them but I guess not gentle enough.

Generally, people don't transplant them at all. Not necessarily dying, it could be going dormant, but we will have to wait and see.

I started a pygmy from seed in a 3" deep pot. I decided it needed to be repotted but when I lifted the pot out of the tray, the tap root was already growing out the bottom. It is really only as thick as a human hair so it is next to impossible to transplant successfully.

OH NO ok I will keep that in mind. I have been leaving them alone other than to water so will see. We have also been having a lot of near and over 100 degree days here too which I am sure they dont love.

Thank you all!
