Weird Seedling?!?

I recently germinated a lot of VFT seeds and many came up looking normal and nice, however, one came up sporting an extra Cotyledon which I find quite strange. It appears to be growing quite well and was wondering if this is a common mutation in VFT's or if anyone has had experience with this in the past. Thanks! Happy Growing! :)

It’s actually a pretty common occurrence with a lot of seedlings.

Something triggers the response that it needs to produce more. Not sure why but it happens. Seen it with VFTs and hens and chicks and some succulents.

I thing to worry about.

Had a VFT that I hand pollinated. Produced seed and several now have 3 cottledons. 1 had 4 before any traps started to grow. Maybe just a weird biological response. All had the same light and water. So not sure that’s the root cause.

I wouldn’t worry about it.

I’ve also seen some seedlings with only 1.

No, the seedling in question would have to be growing in the exclusion zone of Chernobyl (specifically near the cooling tower whose reactor had the meltdown) for it to become a mutant radioactive mankiller. ;)
