My S. purpurea appears to be flowering. It’s almost autumn. Shouldn’t they flower in the early spring?

I’ve had my S. purpurea for a little over a year now, and it’s been outside for the past winter and growing season. It’s nearing the end of summer here, but we still get temps in the 90-100°F most days.

High heat can cause them to panic and spit out a flower. Snip it off; odds are it'll develop deformed anyway.
