I'm using perlite as a top dressing for my ping cause I thought it would look nice. I've only had it there for about a week and now the tops of all the perlite are turning brown. The bottoms are perfectly white. I use peat/perlite/sand mix under it. Anyone know what's going on? Am I going to need a different top dressing?

I believe that's just the tannins in the peat being sucked up into the perlite and causing it to become brown in color.

Yep. The perlite gets stained from the peat tea.
