Enough so that the soil is moist, but not soggy.

As Mia said. Water it through.. you can use the tray method too Keep in a tray of water that goes no further than half way up the pot (i do this) Make sure you're using PURE WATER (rain,Distilled or RO). But don't over water it, that could lead to root rot and keep it from going dry.
