Interesting that you mention that. Do you think they grow better with less compact LFSM? I ask because I think it's pretty tight too but my previous experience is using LFSM with orchids and I typically have mine less compact. As a result, it takes a really long time till my FTS fly traps need any water at all because the sphagnum is always damp.

Am I at a risk if having rot with the LFSM being so compact?

I personally prefer using looser sphagnum because i think it prevents rot in my conditions but my plants also almost always sit in water so that's a big factor, in addition, eventually it will still compact no matter what but it can take a while for that
