Watering during dormacy

I just moved my plants into a dormacy state. 6 hours light and pots are sitting in tray with 2 inches of water. How do others handle the water setup ? New to growing the plants.

Would not let them sit in water during dormancy. Just keep them damp. I'm sure anyone in this forum would agree.

If you let them sit in water they can rot. Just keep them just a bit damp.

I third not letting them sit in water — especially 2” of it! It’s a lot cooler this time of year, so it takes forever for pots to dry out. Between the cooler-than-normal conditions and the stupid wet fall we had, I haven’t watered my flytraps in like three months (which is atypical — normally I’m not able to cut back much on watering until like mid-November).

When I first started in this hobby, I had issues with flytraps rotting in the winter because I’d sat them in water all winter.

Just keep them moist. No need for any standing water unless you want to increase your chance of rot. I also am a fan of keeping them under 50*F all winter.
