Hello,
I'm going to repot my my plants with some silica sand mixed in with sphagnum moss and perlite.

Is this sand here safe to use: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121371922476

It sounds like it should be safe since it's pure silica. I'm not sure how cristobalite compares to regular silica sand, but regular silica sand is pretty heavy and 500g wouldn't get you very far. Probably about 1 small pot. I went through a 22kg bag pretty fast.

I buy mine from lowes (100 lb bag for a little under 10 dollars) which is pretty cheap. It's fairly clean too only needs 4-6 rinses before the water is clear. Just in case you want to be stocked up on silica next time haha
