I started growing plants about a month ago. It's cold where I live so I'm growing indoors. I went to Home Depot and got a t5 19 watt led grow light. It wasn't strong enough I was growing 2 pots of vft seeds. Also growing a vft, a catus , and 2 succulent plants under that light.

Then I wanted to try to make a grow light for 30 bucks and see if it would work. I also got a new sundew that I had for about 2 weeks. I started growing it under the mars light but recently moved it to my new white led setup.

What does everyone think about my light setup. My new white light is a seven led bulb splitter with 5 6500k 1100 lumens 12.5 watts and 2 2700k 12 watt 900 lumens for flowering. I had it running for two days. So far my sundew have been making more and more dew then b4. I plan on adding another one for this level that will make two of these homemade lights for more coverage and a total of about 60 bucks.

Look's pretty good to me. Where did you get 6 bulb fixture? I've never seen anything like it before. Most I've done is two CFL bulbs per socket with splitters, but I might try that set up with LED grow bulbs. I've been wanting the mars hydro but I'm too cheap to buy one.

Same!!!

What lights do you use that are cheaper than marshydros? I am trying to expand my grow space for cheap and am especially looking at led grow lights.

Well I just put together my do it yourself grow light for 40 bucks. Just make sure u get 6500k lights 5000k works it's not as bright though. And some 2700 to get the flowering effects. I got my bulb splitter 7 way from amazon along with light bulb socket 12 foot to plug into the wall no wires straight plug and go. Easy cheap and effective my sundew is growing like crazy by the day. Under this light.
