Lets see everyones best macro shots of their plants! I'll start with a shot of a 16 day old D. burmanni coloring up nicely already under fluorescent lighting.

I especially like that Dreamsicle, I'll have to get me one sometime soon.

I've been wanting to find a good macro lenses for my phone so I can take batter pics of seedlings and other plants I've gotten from people here.

Here's a capensis growing out one of the leaves I put in the pot of the (possibly dead?) Mother plant

What do y'all use to take macro pics of your plants?

I use this thing attached to the end of this lens with this camera body and this flash. I'm quite happy with the whole rig. I'm holding out on getting a true macro lens until I get a camera with a full size sensor (probably either a Nikon D750 or D810).

Edit: I shoot everything in raw and do post-processing with Photoshop CS5.

Me, I just use an Olympus TG-4 point-and-shoot in "microscope" (ie. macro) mode. I don't need the flash as my full-spectrum fluorescents create enough light. And I have Paint Shop Pro for post-processing (mainly cropping).

Nothing wrong with a point and shoot. Some of my best pictures were taken with a Canon powershot something or another...until I lost the battery and decided to upgrade. You can't beat the convenience of a camera which fits in your pocket.

Ha, I figured such awesome pics couldn't be from a phone! I've tried using a magnifying glass and my phone, but they image is never large enough or if I zoom in too much, nothing will be clear!

I got a cell phone macro lens with some Christmas money, and it came in the mail right when one of my albino capensis had an open flower. :D
