Wally took first place in the small potted plant class, and won a ribbon for best in show at the county fair!

Wally has been making a recovery since returning home. Unfortunately, someone must have found amusement in feeding him popcorn, pieces of mulch, and parts of the other plants that were on display. A week without sunlight also was stressful. Between 1/4 and 1/3 of the traps died off and had to be trimmed back.

This is a resilient cultivar and I have no doubt it will fully recover with the usual care.

That's exactly why I hesitate doing these kinds of shows with my plants.

No way people will keep their hands off them.

Whoa, that mound of overflowing traps looks so cool! How big is that container?

I was hesitant as well, but in the end I had a lot of fun and enjoyed most of the experience. People for the most part where curious and respectful. Just a few weren't.

Wow how long did it take to get like that? Does the cultivar produce many small traps or you just somehow got lucky?

I really like the pics!

Edit: nvm just saw the initial post. You've had this for 4 ish years now!

Dormancy update. Everything's been going well and zero problems with mold. Spring's right around the corner.

Forgot to update, but Wally was repotted last week. 98 Wally in total! Talk about a cluster bomb of a flytrap, I couldn't fit them all in the same pot so I had to pot some up in side pots. Safe to say the mother pot is complete. This is the earliest I've reppoted to date but they were waking up much earlier than usual. Should be a great season for flytrapping.

Whoa, nice! If you ever want to get rid of some, we'd happily take them via the Buy it Back program at FlytrapStore:
