I sowed some cephalotus seeds on November 3 and today I noticed this what I believe to be a possible sprout next to that seed.. or it could be slime....

Hi Hollyhock,

Were those seeds you sowed stratified? Have not seen you updated on this but 2 months for it to sprout is quite fast

I didn't stratify the seeds...Someone gifted me these seeds and they were treated with GA2 to break the seeds dormancy. Here is a recent photo..If you look really closely you can see a tiny pitcher developing... :o

Woaaaahh, they make them that small?

I'd just figure they would focus on normal leaves at that age!

So do they catch things that small? Fascinating

They all start out this small when you grow them from a seed...
And I don't think they have caught anything yet....

I think the plants are so cute when they are tiny. I have some SUPER tiny vfts that I ordered (mixed varieties) and they are growing really well but they are still super super small. There are two or three that I think the traps are large enough/ready that I fed them the other day, using a toothpick and very gently using tweezers to help stimulate them to begin the feast!
