Well if the damage is done its recovery time, and also no more need for shade. Its a slow snowball effect the more new growth you get the more the plant can fuel faster growth. After it starts catching bugs it will jump drastically. And i do no suggest feeding until you gain experience on a healthy plant you can spare some traps to learning.

Just leave it out and don't move it, it'll get better eventually

so here is a little update on the B52, i have left it outside since my last post. The older leaves are browning and dying off it seems and some are already blacken. I also do see some new growth tho which seems healthy? It has been collecting rain water and when it doesn't rain i fill the tray up with distilled water. Any opinions? Does the plant seem to be recovering?

The sunburn is normal since the plant was light deprived and not acclimated. I wouldn't expect it to look any other way right now. The good news is that the new growth looks healthy and not burned, so your VFT's should recover over the next 2-3 weeks now that they are receiving a good amount of light.

should i be trimming off the dead\blacken ones?

You can if you want.

I don't bother.

I would wait for them to get dry and crispy. They basically fall off with a light tug. I stress lightly. If they don’t fall right off try again another day. There is still nutrients in that leave going to the rhizome.

so wait for it to naturally fall off. gotcha.

how should i go about preparing it for dormancy at this point?

Edit: I live in Queens New York. Whitestone area to be exact so near the waters at the north shore.

You don't prepare them for dormancy. Just leave them outside until temps are at or slightly below freezing then bring them in to the area your keeping them for winter.

what would the temperature slightly below freezing? cause its hitting 60 degrees here and im freezing already! lol

when i bring them inside. Is it ok if i put it under a grow light? or some natural bright light is fine.

I'm sure you know that water starts to freeze at 32 Fahrenheit or 0 Celsius.......

You will have to put them somewhere that the temps stay between 32f-45f. You can use lights if you want but not necessary as long as they are completely dormant.

I keep my flytraps outside year round (am in zone 7a) and it does dip below 32F here at night in the winter. They seem to tolerate the frostiness just fine. As long as the ground doesn't freeze solid where you live, and the weather doesn't go to insane levels of deep freezing cold, I think your plants will be just fine.

A little update on the B52. since i have left it outside in full sun it seems to be doing very well and healthy. Its catching insects and the head part is bright red\pink. Once it gets to almost freezing ill be moving it inside the house. (should i put it under a grow light?)

I never keep mine under a grow light during dormancy. I did the first dormancy but haven't since. They just sit in the dark with temps hovering around 35f.
