When I get my VTFs from Lowe's (good quality) should i repot it immediately or wait till next spring? and where can i buy a potting mix for VTFs?

You should be able to get peat moss and perlite at Lowe's. If not, you can usually find it at a local nursery. I'd probably wait until February or March to repot though.

you mean February of the next year? so just leave it in the plastic container (lid off) until then?

Yeah, that's probably what I'd do. You could repot now and it would almost certainly be fine too. It's really up to you how you want to do it.

yea you could repot them now because i potted my bare roots about 2 weeks ago and there doing amazing. And for soil use a 30:80 or 50:50 ratio of perlite to peatmoss

I work at a Lowe's and I should warn you that you need to make sure you get plain Perlite, as in not the Miracle grow brand stuff because that has miracle grow in it and will kill the plant. At my Lowe's store the miracle grow brand is all we have. Luckily I found an older sealed bag of Perlite in my shed. Also I might add that you should take any advice on here over the instructions on the box. I own one I bought there as well. To bottom water it it works good to bend one of the plastic flaps on the inside of the box and pour water down it so it reaches the bottom without washing over the topside of the plant.

nah you should just take your plant out of the jar, it will be much healthier and have air circulation

I have been told that you should repot any plant when you buy it from the store. If you have a Habig Garden Shop near you they sell the plain perlite. You can get plain peat moss at Wal-mart or Menards. I have also been told from those on here that you should repot each year or two. But most wait until Spring to do so. When your VFT is coming out of dormacy.

I'd probably wait for dormancy when it gets some rest in order to repot it, if its that bad or its bothering you, I would try to repot it, but don't disturb any roots, in other words, taking the plant out of the pot (along with the soil) and repot it into a nicer pot or something.. then again thats if you can't stand it or if its an emergency or something... So I'd just wait until mid-dormancy or really reallllyyy early Spring in order to disturb the roots and repot them, here's another thing, right after dormancy, if your plant starts producing a flower stalk, cut it off when its about two or three inches so it conserves its energy, you can let it flower next year. (:

Iv been wanting to transplant my 2 vfts, is it better to do it just as dormancy is ending and the new growth is begining so as not to set of traps accidently?

Yes, the best time to repot a plant is right when dormancy is ending. Setting off the traps accidentally isn't really the issue. You just want to make sure that plant is at a point in its growth cycle that it will be able to grow new roots and get established fairly quickly.
