Do you know why they chose chlorophyll b absorption peaks instead of Chl a?

@ muzika, try to give it as much light as u can, since it will be needed to speed up the recovery :D
@ sander
@ Sander

Indeed! But problem is should I really create a greenhouse just for 2 plants that's not more than an inch in diameter both and most of all sharing in a single pot? I do have lots of plants but they're planted in the soil(I don't have potted plants other than these since they won't grow in regular soil) and it's already growing perfectly healthy without a greenhouse. The sole reason why birds attract to this plant I think is because they find it weird and uncommon here in our country :P I think they don't know that it's a plant and think it's some green bug with lots of mouths. :?

Soon maybe when I manage to multiply them to a decent amount I might create a greenhouse for them and sell it here instead.
snapperhead51 wrote:but seriously , grow lights are just no substitute for real sun !! , personally I would be spending the $ on getting or building a small Grow house or green house out side in real sun , most will be bird resistant , even a shade cloth over a frame would be better then grow lights , the grow lights i have are for Tissue Culture mainly and seed germination in a controlled climate / temperature and length of lighting hours , other than that every thing is in natural sun

Well, the onlt thing i could come up with is mentioned in this paper: Kitajima, K. and K.P. Hogan. 2003. Increases of chlorophyll a/b ratios during acclimation of tropical woody seedlings to nitrogen limitation and high light. Plant Cell Environ. 40:857–

I think it has to due with the ratio of chlorophylls in tc, since i know tc plants do not need a lot of light, according to the paper that means they have more chl b copbared to normal conditions.

Well muzika, soon you will have to manny of those plants, and u will need a greenhouse :D
If u want to make some kind of grow light if u have more plants, u can always use 5050 led strips, from what i have found their spectral distribution (blue and red) are pretty good
