Good news everybody, here's another free seed giveaway.

I'm giving away one package (50 - 100 seeds) of fresh 2016 seed from my Drosera intermedia plants. This is a quick growing temperate Sundew. I planted the seeds this Spring. The plants grew and flowered in one season. They will now go dormant and start growing again next Spring.

Rules:
Entry is open to all forum members who can legally receive seed from the USA and that I can legally mail to.

Enter by replying to this post in the form of a numbered list. Add the next number and your screen name to the list as it grows. Do not delete any previous entries.

Winner will be selected by random drawing on Saturday, October 1st, 2016, at 7:00 P.M. C.D.T. Entries after that time will not be accepted.

Winner will be announced in a posting and contacted by PM with a mailing address for an SASE.

Winner will send an SASE to collect his/her seeds.

i was just wondering, instead of giving away one package with 50-100 seeds why not give away 10 packages with 5-10 seeds?

Good question.

50 - 100 seeds are the contents of one seed pod from the plant. I chop off a seed pod and put it in a seed envelope to drop in an SASE. It's difficult to handle and count most Drosera seeds individually. They're so tiny you need a good magnifying glass to see them. I'm old and my eyesight is going from bad to ridiculously bad. Another reason is that many who enter and win are newer growers. Out of a package of 50 seeds, only a few might survive to reach maturity. Giving out smaller packs, will lesson their chance of actually getting a plant to survive.

A giveaway where not everyone wins can add a little excitement and hope to your week.

I typically give away this a little seed from every plant that produces seed for me. I donate the rest to the ICPS seedbank when I have enough to make a shipment worthwhile.

In the past, I've done a giveaway announcing one packet of seed as a prize but at the end, I send everyone who entered a full package of seed. I've done this with Beginner species and rarer species that are prolific in their seed production. The odds are rather good that everyone who enters will get a package of D. intermedia seed.

The way I'm doing it is how people on the forum have been doing it from the beginning. I looked up many past giveaways to see their practices before I ever did one myself.
