Hi guys, I am going on holidays to France next year and will be in London and Cambridge for a few days also. I am hoping that I can buy some Dionaea to bring back to Australia. Providing that I can arrange the appropriate permits etc from Australian Quarantine, can anyone recommend a good supplier / suppliers to buy from?

Linton,

The owner Trev is suppose to be one of the best in the U.K.

I just love some of his plants!

Trev has a good shop but its in Southern Ireland so might course you some problems. If you was coming to Shropshire there are two good growers, myself and Mike King (http://www.mikeking64.pwp.blueyonder.co ... mepage.htm) but I think you will get problems with customs.

For London and Cambridge I can’t think of anyone.

Are there quarantine regulations in place between France / Ireland / Britain? Can I transfer live plant material eg. post live Dionaea from say Ireland or Britain to France without breaking the law?

I can get a permit from Australian Quarantine to bring live plants back into Australia, but I'm not sure what the rules are overseas.

Hi Linton, There are no problems moving plants between Ireland, France and the UK or an country with in the EU (it's an open market) but I don't know if you would need to get any permits from the UK customs. I would guess not as long as the Australian customs was happy you should have no problems
