I bought 3 Venus flytraps that I received in a small terrariums, with a gel as the growing media. They quickly outgrew the tiny bottles, and with 2 of them I tried to plant them in an agar media, but I'm afraid the article I read suggested too many nutrients. The flytraps turned brown, and thinking they were dead I threw them away.

The third one I am going to plant in soil I bought for flytraps on Amazon. I live in southern Colorado and it is quite dry here with very little humidity. I had thought of growing it in a terrarium, but after reading comments that doesn't seem to be a good idea. How can I make sure my flytrap has enough humidity?

The first problem was probably trying to replant them in tissue culture substrate. Once they are grown out they should be transplanted into regular soil. You will only need to keep the humidity up after you repot them and they are acclimating to regular soil conditions. The humidity should not be any problem, as long as the soil does not dry out you will be fine. If it's super dry and sunny outside in the summer just place them in a shallow water tray (1/2 inch) and keep an eye on the soil moisture so that they don't ever dry out.
