Yeah, definitely good for that. Did you build that light yourself?

It's looking great! And it's certainly large for its age. Looks like it will be a great plant.

Thank you.
I am afraid it will not become larger than a certain size if I don't feed it and don't put it into natural dormancy.

I tried like 8 different brands and this one worked best for me.
I bought it when I was in Korea. Now, I live in the States.

Hello,
Hope you all had a nice Thanks giving holiday.
I took this picture on 29th November. Maybe it will look much nicer if I take out the blackened leaves.
The plant is blooming. The huge new leave without the cilia yet on the right just makes me excited.
Even the new growth point is close to reaching 1cm of a trap size.

I took another picture right after watering it.
There is sudden big jump in the trap sizes. The one at the bottom is measuring 3cm=1.2inches.
Since it has reached 3cm in 1.5 years, there is no doubt that it has potential to surpass its parents.
Even the little growth point has pulled out over 1cm trap. Very unusual growing speed.

Compared to the most recent update, you can also see how color can be different according to lighting.

Hi guys,
I think the plant was dormant from December to about May. It just became too red without growing much.
This is how it looked in February 2015 during dormancy.

The plant started growing again on May with several new small divisions but I had to fight with some small insects that looked like gnats. Finally, I gave up LSM and changed to sand + peat media. During repotting, I was shocked by the size of the rhizome. I regret not taking a photo. It has just put out 3 nice traps that are about 3.4cm (=1.33 inches) in size.

Interestingly, it looks like the number of trigger hairs have increased. One trap had 5 trigger hairs on each side. The other traps had 4 on one side and 5 on the other side.

The previous photos that are months ago showed three on one side and rarely four hairs on the other side.
I am assuming that the number of trigger hairs increase as the plant gets bigger or it ages. I will observe future traps to see whether this is true.

The smaller plant below that was divided from the original plant did not have more than normal number of hairs. This smaller plant is putting out bigger traps each time as the original plant did a year ago.

The growth rate is somehow saturated compared to when it was younger. However, I am still hoping that it will grow larger this year. It is still the fastest growing flytrap (without feeding) I have ever seen. The largest trap size that I have grown in my condition up to date is 3.8cm that I saw from an A2. However, this 3.8cm is result of fertilization and 100% humidity. Without fertilization and feeding, this is the biggest trap I have ever seen in my condition. For your background, I grow my plants indoor so they are not naturally fed unless I intentionally try to.

Below is the picture of the parents of this plant back in 2012. DC XL (mother) is in the center and A2 (father) is at the upper right corner.
