Very nice pic, my bet is that the trap was smaller not able to catch that big fly, so the fly made its way out with its body, but moving to get out it moved the trigger hairs more putting more pressure and the trap sealing even more, and you can figure the rest out with the pic

Nice! This "occassion" usually happens with dentes. I've never seen it with a typical before.
