Should I trim dead looking traps off?

I've just bought a fly trap from my local grocery store and noticed some of the traps are closed and look a bit sickly. The little spikes on the outside are dried and bent and these are a bit darker than the others. I'm wondering if I should remove them? Also there's a bit of build up of dead traps on the top of the soil, should I remove those too?

People would argue it's an aesthetic thing but if the traps or parts are 100% black, I encourage to trim them off. Dead parts if left untrimmed tends to block the green parts of the petioles or traps to which the plant utilizes for photosynthesis. If there's still some green left, leave it alone until it completely turns black because the flytrap is bringing all that energy down to the rhizome.
