with so many plants in one place do you feed them? or introduce flies/insects for them to eat? or something similar
also, are the requirements for other varieties or carnivorous plants basically the same? been looking for a sundew for a while.

Nah, it's amazing how well they do on their own catching food. Last summer, the plants I had outside rarely had an open trap for more than a few days.

For the most part yes, but it depends on the variety of the CP. All sarracenia (pitcher plants) have the same basic requirements (lots of light, clean water, nutrient poor soil, dormancy, etc.) as do temperate Drosera (sundews). However, tropical Drosera don't need a dormancy.

Hi Matt, nice collection. You have so many of the venus fly trap varieties that I am currently searching for!
How did you manage to source so many different varieties?
Can you recommend a reliable nursery that can ship to Australia and meet our Quarantine requirements??

Any help would be appreciated!!!

Thanks,

Linton

Thanks! Some of them I ordered from David Conner of http://www.connerscarnivores.com (excellent plants!), some of them I bought from another person on another forum and some of them were given to me by another person.

You are very lucky to have Triffid Park Nurseries in Australia.
http://www.triffidpark.com.au/htm_pages ... plants.htm
They have a big selection of Dionaea Cultivars.

There are also some other nurseries online that you *might* be able to order from, but I'm not sure if they ship to Australia. Here's a list:
http://www.flytrapcare.com/venus-fly-tr ... -they.html

Oh, and look for other growers in your area that might have extra plants to sell or trade or give to you. You can check for growers in Austraila on our forum or on other forums.

Hope that helps!

The names were made by someone other than me. Maybe someday I will be able to name a particular plant...if it's special enough...
