I noticed what could be the beginning of flower on my P. 'weser' so I took a picture:

A couple days later, it was confirmed! Its first flower stalk:

I'll try and take better photos later, in better lighting.

Last night I noticed that my D. 'schuppenstiel' has put out the most bizarre-looking trap (this is because the trap is forming slowly, so I was able to view it only partially opening). I took some photos...

I especially love the last photo. Enjoy and thanks for viewing!

I almost always use the same soil mix:
peat: silica sand: perlite at a 3:2:1 ratio. I tend to have a lot of success with a 1/4" topcoat of LFS. I usually add the top coat after a couple months of the plant being outside. This is what you are visually seeing in the first two photos.

I have had bad results with 100% LFS. I had about 5 plants almost die from fungus infections this past winter dormancy due to the medium (in my opinion). I switched the media and they all recovered except 3 plants. still, I might lose all 3.

The ones that did bad had trouble in late winter/early spring indoors coming out of dormancy. They were in little containers. The LFS holds moisture too much. It makes it harder to care for them, in my opinion. The cons outweight the pros.

I see.
Each year i use the fridg method, with 50:50 peat perlite. The soil is almost dry.
From my experience, and yours as i can read, the critic point is the end of the dormancy. I have to resume watering very slowly, or everything rot.
I think i will do the same thing with my lfs soil media. Almost dry dormancy.
I hope for the best !
