When you do the pulling do you put mainly peat moss then sphagnum on top?

I agree with Harris. Doing leaf pullings in live sphagnum is the way to go. Live sphagnum has antibacterial properties and protects the leaf from rotting sooner than it normally would.

i put it on plain old sphagnum

But to strike the plant do you put peat, then sphag moss, then the cutting or just sphagnum moss in a pot and put the leaf in it?

I just use pure live sphangum.

Wait so you just put the sphag in the pot and put the leaf in it? And after it starts to grow you plant it in peat? Sorry I am really bad at sphag.

Yep. I usually let it grow for a while in the sphagnum before moving it to peat.

Cool. I might order some from you guys and start my own colony of Sphagnum Moss . Thanks for all the quick answers and help
