Hi there,

I purchased gemmae from a great blogger and I looked at the gemmae under a microscope because after a couple of days it didnt seem to be doing anything but turning brown... the Paleacea gemmae I have has already sprouted, but the omissa have not.. I have a picture.. does the black spot in the middle mean its dead? Image

Thanks!

No but your gemmae still looks fine to me.

When it comes to trying to get plants from gemmae and seeds, it is best to just let them do their thing. There really isn't a point to worry if they will sprout or not, unless you don't have the room to just leave the pot be.
