Hello everyone! I have always been amused by carnivorous plants and I'm so happy that I have one myself! I was in IKEA and I bought one and I didn't expect to do well taking care for it, being my first time owning a CP, and despite being completely oblivious on what to do and how to care for it, I gave it a shot. I have had it for about 2 and a half months and it's super green and healthy :D . It is flowering and many people say to cut them off but I'm going to leave them on as my plant catches a lot of bugs on my windowsill when I have the window open :) . I used to give it tap water but I have realised that it is bad for the plant because of the minerals in it, so I now collect rainwater. However it now being summer, it doesn't rain as much here so I give it de-ionised water. My plant catches many bugs and I can't wait to give it a new pot when the seeds on the flowers fall so I have more plants. I can't wait for the future of my plant who I call Hugo! :)

Hello! I'm in England too! Make sure Hugo is planted in suitable soil. Got my vft from b&q and they totally messed up the potting mix and he nearly died. Managed to revive him though.

I suggest putting Hugo out in the baking hot sun this summer. He'd like the direct sunlight. My vft is much redder now that I've put him outdoors. He's named Cecil. These are outdoor plants and appreciate full sun. He might need to be slowly introduced to the outdoors (they get sunburnt too!) But it'll be worth it in the long run if Hugo gets direct sun.

Happy to help with anything and recommend stuff since we're based in the same country. I know an online seller of carnivorous plants in the UK that is absolutely a-ma-zing! Just bought a sundew off of them. She's named Luna :)
