"I had a flytrap once, but it died."
Then I had another a few years later, all before Google existed to tell me about using distilled water and not keeping it in the dome of doom.

This year, the local grocery store got flytraps in before Halloween, so I decided to try my luck again and bought one.

Then a couple days later bought two more, because they were just so cute!

A couple weeks later, they got in another shipment, and I found myself coming home with another pair, since the new ones came in with bigger, better looking traps than the first batch, and my others were looking a little worse for wear with a bit of accidental overwatering and dying traps.

And then last week I went to visit some family, who happen to live quite close to the greenhouse listed on the back of the flytrap tags, and came home with two little pitcher plants.

I'm not quite sure how it escalated that quickly, as I have a rather black thumb...

Welcome to the forum.
I have good news and bad news.

The good news is that you've fallen into a community of like-minded people.
There's a lot of good information and nice people here, albeit a few grumpy old codgers also.

The bad news is that once you've been bitten by the CP bug, there's no cure.

Good growing,
Mike

Hello from Canada as well,

I too just got a flytrap from my local grocery store. Although, I regret not purchasing more than one. I am in the midst of trying to keep the darn thing alive and well and trying to enter it into dormancy. Where in Canada do you live, if I may ask? I currently reside in the nations capital.

Nice to meet you,

Victor
