Yeah, I was upgrading the forum to the latest software. I also almost have installed a live chat feature, but I am configuring it now.

Congrats on your new plant. It's always an exciting day when you get a new plant. Sounds like it made it through the journey pretty well. You can remove all of the wax paper and tape and stuff. It should be good to go now. I have to admit I'm a little jealous. I love getting new plants...

It looks like regular soil but it is not it contains no fertilizers . If you look real close it looks like dead ferns or moss.

Go to " Venus fly trap general questions" then go to page two at the bottom the "Repotting "post. It may answer your question.
here try this it worked for me it will take you there.

Hi Rob and welcome to FlyTrapCare - I am glad that you plant arrived safe & sound and really hope that you get some extraordinary plants from your mixed seed.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you purchase your seed from?

Linton.

Thanks Rob, I'll check it out - I just missed out on some mixed fly trap seed on EBay - It went for 50 cents over my maximum bid - SPEWIN!
***Flytrap ranch only ships to USA and has sold out of seed 18/11/08*** Matt is responsible I presume!!!

No worries Rob - looks like what I have to do over here is get a heap of people growing fly traps then start trading seed. The only seed we can get hold of commercially is the regular "typical" variety. Seed from mixed cultivars is very hard to come by and usually very expensive here in Australia.

I wonder how much it would cost to send some seeds to you say in a regular type letter..

Not much, I'm sure. I can send you a packet if you're interested Linton. I exchanged emails with Steve Doonan (of flytrapranch.com) and he said that he has enough seed to make 10-12 or so more packets. So if I need more for my tissue culturing, I can always get more.

I checked USPS last night if I did it right it would cost about $1.75 to mail a regular letter. I could send you 10 seeds or so if you would give me your address.
