vft & love bugs

I live in central Florida. My plants are outdoors all year and subject to love bug seasons, which can last up to 2 weeks and occur up to twice a year. Love bugs are generally bad for my traps because they fly around attached and inevitably one bug gets caught in the trap and the other gets stuck outside the trap and rots it. I erect screening during the siege to protect them but i wonder about the vfts in the Carolinas.
The range of love bugs includes the carolinas. My query is , is there any observations from the field concerning the impact of love bugs on the vft bogs?
