Do you guys have any idea if this is a venosa or a purpurea? Thanks!

I would also guess that is a purp venosa. I've been told that a waxy exterior is indicative of subsp. purp, while a fuzzy exterior is typical of subsp. venosa. Venosa also tends to have the wavy hoods. If you wait until it flowers it would also help since purps have purple flowers while venosa has more pink/red flowers.

no expert but it looks similar to the Venosa's i've seen and also looks to be similar to the venosa hybrids we have - if nothing else for the short hugely squat pitchers

It's pretty hard to tell based on leaf shape. Frankly, you can easily find purps that look like venosa and vice versa no problem at all. However, as SundewWolf says, the waxy vs. fuzzy exterior is a good indicator. Unfortunately, hybrids can still confuse things...

Does anyone know what species this sundew seedling belongs to? It looks nothing like a capensis seedling, that's for sure. My best guess is that it would be a drosera spatulata seedling.

Like huntsman said with the amount of hybridization going on its next to impossible to get a 100% solid ID on sarracenia. With that said, that plant definitely shows strong purpurea ssp venosa characteristics.

For the drosera you'll need to get that plant bigger and get some better pics before any solid ID can be given.
