Utrics for pest control?

I just ordered a couple of utrics. These would be my first so I read up on them, and this led me to realize that an odd plant that hitchhiked in with my d. capensis was actually a stowaway utric (I thought it may have been some grass or weed).

I wonder if utrics may be effective as pest control, specifically against the kind that operate underneath the soil (or hide there during the day). I know that even the most ravenous CP isn't the greatest pest-controller, but I wonder if it would be worthwhile to transplant bits of my utric to my other pots as another line of defense.
