Hi all, I just received my first VFT for christmas, here in winter it gets really cold and I don't know if when it was purchased it already was dormant or not. One day the plant caught a fly and the trap has been sealed shut for a while now. All the other traps have also closed and I have no idea why (the plant is kept inside). The other traps are not closed down completely (you can still see inside them), and they have been that way for more than a week. I've read that when a trap closes but the insect sneaks out, the trap will open again after a couple of days, but mine have not opened. Is it because the plant is dormant or because of something else? Should I do something or just wait?

See how they are closed but not all the way? Like they had a failed catch. And they have been like that for a while now.

My traps will close like this if I mess up their conditions, ie to much or not enough water, bad lightning and etc. Do you have your peat moss cut with anything, like perlite? They may be getting smothered.
