Traps growing overnight?

I just saw 2 traps grow overnight and I don't think they're shock traps. I do remember something like this being in those two spots, though (duh)-
Not nearly big enough to become an opening trap overnight.
Is this normal?

Does anyone know what's happening?

I wouldn't read too much into what the plant does until you have it about a month and it gets closer to growing season. Let it settle in and start really growing, then if you still see curiosities in its growth, ask again.

Agreed, It takes a good 2-3 weeks for flytraps to get settled into their new environment.
