Maybe I'm being an overprotective ping parent, but I have gotten a few leaves that concern me.

At first I start to see a spot developing on a leaf (always a leaf near the base of the plant), that grows at a decent pace
But the spot is transparent as it grows. It eventually starts to yellow and shrivel. I've pulled a leaf or two as this happens, but not sure if that's good/ bad to do.

It's still growing leaves and flowers readily, but whatever this is, continues.

One of the flowers' petals also seem to get limp. I've read elsewhere that the flowers live for about a week, but mine seem to last for a few. Maybe these are normal life cycles and I should just leave it alone.

The soil is 1:1 peat moss and perlite. I water it until I see a little water run into the tray, then I don't water until the tray is dry (about every other day). I'm in the midwestern us, so it's dark by 5pm. I have an LED grow light that provides light the P. Gigantum and a bunch of other plants for about 8 hours a day that sits about 4 feet above the plants. They sit about 6 inches from a northeast window. Temperature sits steady at 73-74 degrees Fahrenheit with 22-25% humidity.

Here are some photos:

Thanks in advance!

I made a rookie mistake. I just noticed the peat moss and perilite I had was miracle gro. I have repotted them in new medium. How fatal of a mistake was this? Could it recover?

in what substrate ?

I repotted with a premixed substrate made for carnivorous plants that had no additives. The mix was of peat moss, perilite and coarse sand.

Thanks much!

Ya, they're funny that way.
Weird. Tons of other forums and sites said it will kill them.

Bonjour

for me in your old substrate your plant was OK ,I would nevertheless bring to your substrates a little more limestone
see here there 'in situ' condition on limestone cliff
.http://www.pinguicula.org/A_world_of_Pi ... card_5.htm

it is a plant that grows on anything , I have friends who are grown only on glass wool (or rock) without any particular problem, they still need when they are growing they take insects
