I got my first nepenthes. It was in a tray full of water. So I picked the healthiest one. When I repotted it, I saw an awful site. Potting mix. So I immediately put in sphagnum moss. It has black roots. One red leaf. Should I keep it in usual nepenthes conditions?

Here is a photo of some roots and my Gaya. The best growth i have seen is outside in the heat and morning sun. The newest leaf will blush and go back greenish in strong light.
