Ability to request small packs of dried sphagnum moss as a bonus? I'm running out of sphagnum after repotting my VFT and my S. Purpurea.

The seed bank isn't a source for materials, although we do have the poly bags. It is to distribute seeds in a cost effective manner, only requiring an envelope and stamp. Other members do sell media and you can order some online. You can order packs of BetterGro Orchid moss from Lowes. It is enough for about 4 3 inch pots.

If you want a smaller quantity or a mix of peat/perlite, PM me and I can sell you some.

Ok. I saw the Maxsea in tier 3 and thought the seed bank also distributed materials occasionally.

Even if someone donated some sphagnum to share, you can not get very much in a envelope.

The MaxSea is 1/4 tsp which can be sent first class with a regular envelope and stamp. That is the main constraint.

Those above hit it on the head, the seed bank isn't a place for materials such as growing media. The seed bank is primarily for growers to relieve themselves of excess seed that they cannot sell, trade, or give away, bur also don't want to throw it away. No grower I know woke up and said to themselves, "I have waaay tomorrow much sphagnum moss, I better donate this bale of it before it goes bad." That doesn't happen. Besides, as mentioned, you'll not get enough in an envelope to do anything with unless the pot is tiny.
A better choice would be to support the owner of these forums and order media from the flytrapstore.com. They're presently out of sphagnum, but have premixed peat/perlite that is perfect for most carnivorous plants.
