I’d like to start a thread where people share photos of their techniques or equipment. If possible, I’d like the photos to highlight the objects more than the plants they may support. For example, how you fit all your plants into an area. How you used the eggcrate or other material to do something. How you built a stand to do something, or used an object not designed for the hobby to do something for you. Etc…

I’ll start with
The use of a twenty dollar clothes rack from Lowe’s to make moving my Nepenthes easy. While not designed for outside, they work for a few seasons already, and are cheap enough to replace.

Also, some stands I use for 1020 trays for my Sarracenia.

This is my latest indoors setup. The shelves are storage shelves from Costco and we're about $90. The lights are Yescom 225 white. They are hung my chains attached to the shelf by chains so that I can adjust the distance to the plants. On two sides I have a reflective survival blanket attached to reflect the light and protect the wall from moisture.

I use a simple Walmart greenhouse with a shoe mat to catch any excess of agua/plant debris. We also have a covered heating mat to boost those seedlings that need the extra heat. The cardboard tray is excellent for keeping in water surprisingly. A must for indoors.

Love these setups! Here’s a link to mine:

Quickly running out of room.. if and when I expand, I’ll definitely be drawing from these for more affordable ideas!

I forgot my two other setups. This one is on my desk with a Yescom 225 white light. These plants have all been acclimated to room humidity and get an occasional misting from a spray bottle. I started putting Maxsea in the heli pitchers and it really started to color up.

This is a grow tent that was gifted to me. It looks blue because of 2 Yescom 225 blue/white lights. Photos turn out much more blue than looking at it in person. I use it for seedlings, new divisions, and plants that need resuscitation as it has very high humidity. Presently I'm getting the plants ready to move out by leaving the door open during the day to acclimate them to lower humidity.

I didn't have anything tall that I wanted to grow so it made sense. There is one of the event sleeves on the bottom so it doesn't lay flat, but it does a great job as a seed nursery.

Oh, yea, sometimes when I top water, the water doesn't go all the way down, the pvc pipe just gets water down on the bottom.
